New online resource for healthier eating
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has unveiled a new addition to ChooseMyPlate.gov.
Healthy Eating on a Budget, developed by the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, aims to offer helpful, easy-to-use information about food shopping and preparing foods that save money and time.
The new section of the website provides dozens of strategies to plan, purchase and prepare healthy meals. It includes a cookbook with 25 recipes from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.
The overall goal of the site is to empower people to make healthier food choices for themselves and their families.
