Spokane Shadow prepare for first-place Shock

The Spokane Shadow will host the first-place South Sound FC Shock in Evergreen Premier League play at 7 tonight at Spokane Falls Community College.

The third-place Shadow (5-2-1) are three points behind the Shock (6-0-1). Spokane tied South Sound at 1 earlier in the season, thanks to a late goal by Nick Hamer (Gonzaga University/Mead High).

Women’s tennis

Eastern Washington announced that Dustin Hinson, interim head coach the last two seasons, will lead the team on a full-time basis.

The Idaho graduate owns a career record of 9-34, including 4-16 in the Big Sky Conference.

Women’s basketball

Idaho Vandals coach Jon Newlee announced the hiring of assistant coach Miranda Forry.

Forry served as UC Irvine’s director of women’s basketball operations last season and held the same post at Pacific from 2011-2013.
