One person in critical condition after officer-involved shooting on I-90

Four Idaho law enforcement agencies were involved in a shooting at 2 a.m. that has closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 90. According to a news release, officers and deputies from the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho State Police and the Post Falls Police Department were on scene at an officer-involved shooting. The incident took place on I-90 at milepost 5. The lone suspect in the case was listed in critical condition at Kootenai Health, the news release said. Westbound lanes are closed from Highway 41 to Spokane Street for an investigation. The Idaho Transportation Department says the lanes still are closed and travelers are told to use an alternate route. Because of the four agencies involved, the Rathdrum Police Department and Bonner County Sheriff’s Office were called in to assist, the news release said. The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office will oversee the investigation.
