Area roundup: Joe Ross new Washington State baseball assistant

Washington State announced Wednesday that Joe Ross, a scout for the Seattle Mariners, has been hired as assistant baseball coach.

Ross has been with the Mariners the past five years. Before that he was a coach at the collegiate level for 30 years, including 17 years as the top assistant at the University of Washington.

Ross will be the Cougars’ recruiting coordinator and work with hitters and catchers.

Washington State rowing coach Josh Adam has been promoted from assistant to associate head coach. Adam has been with the Cougars the past four years.
