Teen stabbed while jogging near Colbert late Tuesday

From staff reports
A teenager out for a run late Tuesday night near Colbert was stabbed by a man who first attempted to rob him, sheriff’s deputies said. The 17-year-old went out for a run around 11:30 p.m. near the 6600 block of W. Bernhill Road. He said he was jogging east on Bernhill when a man grabbed him around the neck, pulled out his headphones and demanded his wallet, a news release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said. When the teen said he did not have his wallet, the man spun him around and stabbed him in the right shoulder, then ran away. The victim said the man was about 5‘11”, wearing a dark hood and had breath that smelled like “garbage.” The teen is in stable condition at Holy Family Hospital.
