Church actions disturbing
Recently, The Spokesman-Review has printed articles and letters concerning actions, positions and statements made by the Presbyterian Church’s General Assembly. The narrow political nature of these ongoing activities has regrettably forced me to resign my longtime membership from a local Presbyterian church. The egregious positions condemning Israel (over the years) and recent statements about U.S. immigration policies relating to immigrant desert deaths are particularly disturbing.
I would urge my fellow longtime pew-sitters to look at the general assembly’s actions, other denominational statements and positions to determine if you are comfortable financing this organization.
