Biden at wedding tries to blend in

From Wire Reports

For a few hours, he was just Uncle Joe. Vice President Joe Biden was in the Syracuse, New York, area on Saturday to see his niece get married.

The Syracuse Post-Standard reported that Biden tried his best to keep the focus on bride Marren Hunter and groom Gregory Felter, despite his usual Secret Service detail tagging along. Hunter’s father is the brother of Biden’s first wife, Neilia Hunter. She died in a car accident in 1972.

Biden didn’t speak during the service and wasn’t mentioned in the wedding program, which included a tribute to Neilia. The vice president did wave to onlookers as he entered church through a side door.

Cox, McDaid announce engagement

Courteney Cox says she is engaged to marry Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid. The actress and the musician revealed their engagement Friday with a dual announcement on Twitter.

The pair, who have been dating for under a year, posted a selfie with matching tweets saying, “I’m engaged to her” and “I’m engaged to him.”

This will be the second marriage for Cox, 50, who divorced actor David Arquette in May 2013 after nearly 14 years of marriage. They have a 10-year-old daughter, Coco.

Arrested rapper leaves custody

Rapper Rick Ross has been released after his arrest following a North Carolina concert.

Greensboro Police Department spokeswoman Susan Danielsen said that Ross was taken into custody Friday night after the SuperJam concert. She said a court had issued an order for his arrest because he failed to appear in court on a previous misdemeanor marijuana charge.

The rapper, whose real name is William L. Roberts, was taken into custody after his performance. Danielsen says he was released on $1,000 bond.
