Cantwell earns plaudits

If David Darlow (Feb. 22) really wonders what Sen. Maria Cantwell has done for Washington, and why she “seldom receives criticism in our local press,” he should read the article “Farm bill program putting healthy food on school menus” that appeared in The Spokesman-Review the same day.

This is just one example of many cost-effective, innovative programs Cantwell has sponsored. Helping our local farmers, bringing ag research funds to our area and improving our children’s health are issues important to all of us, liberals and conservatives alike.

I think Cantwell is doing an awesome job, and truly deserves our praise. We are fortunate to have both Sens. Cantwell and Patty Murray representing us.
