City response impressive

The Spokane Military Entrance Processing Station recently experienced a water outage due to a frozen main water line. From the moment we reported the outage to the city of Spokane Water Department, the response was outstanding. Within hours of arriving on site, personnel identified the problem and developed a temporary solution to return water service to the facility. The quick action of the department minimized the impact to our mission.

The professionalism exhibited by the department’s men and women was truly exceptional. Despite the long hours in less-than-ideal weather conditions, everyone working to remedy the problem remained optimistic of a quick resolution. Even given the complexity of the outage, the department beat their own estimates of when the permanent solution would be in place.

The actions and support of the city of Spokane Water Department are a testimony to the partnership between the people of Spokane and the U.S. military. The Spokane community is a great host to its military units and a wonderful location to serve our nation. I am extremely proud to be a part of this community.
