ANDERSON, Robert J.

Died at the age of 83 from Alzheimer’s on February 22, 2014.

He attended Georgetown University as a physics major.

He joined the Air Force and became a pilot.

Served in the Korean War as a Combat Flight Instructor.

He flew for United Airlines as a commercial pilot, making Captain.

Flying was his passion and first love.

Preceded in death by his mother Helen, father Louis, son Robert Jr., first wife Jean, second wife Irene.

He had four children: Robert, Mary, Elizabeth and Nora.

He helped raise his wife Irene’s grandchildren, Patricia and Caryn.

He is survived by his sister Margaret; daughters Mary, Elizabeth (Wayne), Nora (Tommy); Irene’s children Rita (Tommy) and Bob; Irene’s grandchildren Patricia and Caryn, David, and Adam; Mary’s children Helen and Robert; Nora’s children August and Addison; and his great-grandchild Jasper.

A service will be held at Spokane Cremation & Funeral Service on Monday, March 3 at 11am.

Donations can be made to the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
