Obituary: Burch, George E., Jr.
He was the loving husband of Dorothy Burch for over 53 years, father to three daughters, Vicki (Nathan) Dodson, Tracy (Tom) Greer, and Mimi (Roger) Otto and the proud grandpa of three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
George was a hard-working truck driver for Chevron in Seattle for over 37 years.
George was born in Sacramento, CA, and grew up in Ione, CA.
He served honorably in the Army from 1957 - 1959.
He met Dorothy Roseberry in 1959 in Seattle and they married in 1960.
George loved music (a special fondness for Creedence Clearwater Revival) and taught his daughters to love rock-n-roll.
He enjoyed boating, water sports, and anything his family was into.
He was a terrific mechanic and kept the family cars running.
He enjoyed barbecue, playing pranks, joking with truck drivers and flirting with all waitresses from 16 to 86 years old.
He was one of the original fans of the Seahawks and Mariners and celebrated his 75th birthday with family in box seats at Safeco Field.
George received his liver transplant in 1997 and was considered the poster boy for transplants.
This transplant gave us 16 more years of love and laughter with him.
George was preceded in death by his father George, Sr., mother Mildred, brother Jackie, sister Lucile, and grandson Jake.
He is survived by Dorothy, his daughters and their families.
He was very loved by his family and friends and will be missed on a daily basis.
His ashes will be interred at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Medical Lake March 7th at 3pm.
A celebration of his life will be on March 8th from 11am - 2pm at the Mirabeau Hotel on Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.
