Obituary: Ellison, James W.

ELLISON, James W. James Walter Ellison, age of 60 of Spokane Washington, went to be with his Heavenly Father, after faithfully fighting cancer of his lungs for eighteen months on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014.

James was born October 22, 1953 to Walter E. Ellison and Mary H. Stanton of Port Jervis New York.

He graduated from Port Jervis High School in 1971.

He completed his Associate in Applied Science in Airport Operations Technology with the Community College of the Air Force in 1992 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in November of 1994.

He was married to Diana L. Wuest of Davis California on October 2nd, 1982 in Sacramento California at McClellen Air Force Base.

James was a retired service member of The United States Air Force serving from July 1977 and retired 1997.

After retirement he pursued a career in truck driving with Werner and System TWT from 1997 - 2002, followed by a fulfilling career at the Washington State Patrol from 2002 till death.

While serving in the U.S.A.F.

he was awarded with many Air Force medals and decorations including the A.F.

Commendation Medal with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, A.F.

Outstanding Unit Award, Combat Readiness Medal, A.F.

Good Conduct Medal with 5 knots and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

He was also a Veteran in support of Operation Desert Storm/ Shield.

James was survived by his spouse; Diana L Ellison, his children Lenae McCarthy of Arizona, Shannon Eaglin (Eric) of Spokane, Brandon Ellison (Stephanie) of Sacramento, Kelly Boyd (Chad) of Louisiana and Ashleigh Weaver (Clay) of Texas.

He has four grand- children, Tatum and Sterling Eaglin, Isaiah Adams, Iain Weaver and a grandson on the way.

His brother Donald Ellison (Cynthia) and Kenneth Ellison (Ione) reside in New York.

He is predeceased by his father Walter E. Ellison (1970) his mother Mary H. Stanton (1988), and his brother Francis Ellison (2000).

Jeromy Waunch of The Vine Community will officiate the memorial service at 11:00 am on Friday the 7th of March at Sunset Chapel 5200 West Wellesley, Spokane WA 99205.

The burial will immediately follow at Riverside Memorial Park 211 N. Government Way, Spokane WA 99224.

Please join us at the Life Center at 1202 N. Government Way, Spokane WA 99224 for the Reception directly after the burial.
