Providence, Group Health team up to host Bloomsday training clinics

To help walkers, joggers and runners safely train for Bloomsday, Providence Health Care and Group Health are hosting seven free training clinics at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays from March 15 through April 26 at the Spokane Falls Community College gym.

Each clinic starts with a 15-minute training topic by an expert speaker and an indoor warm-up led by a personal trainer. Then participants head outside to cover 1 mile the first week, adding an additional mile weekly to gradually prepare for the 12-kilometer Bloomsday run on May 4.

Volunteers from the organizations will provide water stations, crossing guards and first aid along the routes, which are on the SFCC campus and Centennial Trail.

Register at phc.org or at a clinic.
