Plenty of rain in Washington forecast

Associated Press
SEATTLE — The National Weather Service says a series of Pacific storms will bring rain to Washington through Thursday. The 48-hour totals are expected to be .5-to-1.5 inches in the Puget Sound region and 2-to-6 inches in the mountains. Forecasters say the snow level will rise above the Cascade highway passes and the rainfall will probably keep the avalanche threat high. The Weather Service doesn’t expect much flooding, except on the Skokomish River. Forecasters are watching for flooding on other rivers in Western Washington. Periods of heavy rain in Eastern Washington could cause minor farmland flooding and ponding in urban areas with poor drainage. After a break Friday, more rains are expected over the weekend and into next week across the state.
