NW Christian 52, Bear Creek 14

Courtney Gray hit 9 of 10 shots and finished with 19 points and the Crusaders overwhelmed the Grizzlies in a 2B girls opener at the Arena.

Northwest Christian led 40-4 after three quarters.

NWC’s Rachel Bozlee added 13 points and Chanel Knight chipped in 10. Bear Creek’s Catherine Fernandez scored eight points.

The 14 points scored by Bear Creek set a tournament record for least points scored. Morton-White Pass scored 15 points in a tournament game last year.

The Crusaders play Toutle Lake in the semifinals today at 3:45 p.m. Bear Creek and DeSales will meet in a loser-out game at 9 a.m.

Toutle Lake 44, DeSales 33

Bailey Hockett and Samantha Woodley combined for 24 points and the Fighting Ducks pulled away after halftime and beat the Irish in a first-round game.

Toutle Lake opened the second half on a 12-1 run to take a 34-20 lead late in the third quarter. DeSales responded in the fourth but couldn’t complete the rally.

Teresa Acock tallied a team-high 10 points for DeSales.

The Bulldogs shook off an extremely sluggish start to beat the Braves in an opening-round game.

Colfax scored three points in the opening quarter, but a 15-2 second-quarter run gave them a 23-11 halftime lead.

Nicole Sheer shot 12 of 20 from the floor and finished with 26 points. She also pulled down eight rebounds.

Anna Cook had 13 points and six rebounds for the Braves.

Hailey Higashi drained six 3-pointers and scored 21 points as the Dragons beat the Timberwolves in a first-round.

St. George’s led by six at halftime and outscored Morton-White Pass 14-10 in the final period to secure the victory.

Higashi shot 7 for 13 overall and grabbed five rebounds for the Dragons, and teammate Ceci Bergquist added 16 points.

Whitney Elledge scored a team-high 17 points for the Timberwolves, who will play La Conner at 10:30 a.m. today in a loser-out game.

The Dragons advance to play Colfax at 5:30.
