Chiefs snap 3-game skid with victory at Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Mike Aviani scored twice as the Spokane Chiefs rallied to defeat the Prince George Cougars 4-2 on Friday night, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Keanu Yamamoto and Adam Helewka also scored for the Chiefs (37-24-6), who trailed 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. Reid Gow tacked on three assists and Mitch Holmberg tallied two points to raise his league-leading total to 109.

Todd Fiddler extended his point streak to 19 games with a goal and Troy Bourke also scored for Prince George (26-35-8).

Garret Hughson made 34 saves for Spokane.

The Chiefs are 3-0 against the Cougars this season and the two teams face off again tonight, also in Prince George.

Spokane is in fifth place in the Western Conference, one point ahead of Everett.
