Obituary: Vrolson, Harriet A.

Age 97

VROLSON, Harriet A. Harriet Agnes (Ball) Vrolson, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

She was born on September 16, 1916 in Illinois City, Illinois to Francis and Alpharetta (Keene) Ball.

Harriet is survived by her daughter, Carol A.

(James) Lewis; son, John F. (Carol) Vrolson; grandchildren, Paul Lewis (Sharon), Michelle Lewis-Tosten (Joseph), and Sheri Hansten (Alan); great-grandchildren, Brendan Lewis, Kaisha Lewis, Camille Lewis, Gavin Lewis, Jolie Tosten, Gretchen Hansten, Alyssa Hansten, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Delvin, granddaughter, Cindy Vrolson, grandson, Earl Lewis, and brothers, Howard T. Ball and Elwood I.

Ball.

Harriet was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed knitting.

She knitted Caps For Kids at Logan School, and sent sweaters to Guideposts to be sent to children in poverty.

She worked in alterations at the Northtown Crescent Store and did dressmaking and alterations in her home.

She was a member of Spokane Rock Rollers, and enjoyed traveling in the Southwest during the winter months collecting rocks.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Riverview Terrace Chapel, 1801 East Upriver Drive, Spokane, WA.
