W.F. West beats Mark Morris for 2A title


 YAKIMA, Wash. – Led by tournament MVP Julie Spencer, W.F. West ran past defending champ Mark Morris 48-37 on Saturday en route to the State 2A girls championship. Spencer poured in 20 points, including 11 in the second half, as the Bearcats (25-2) led the entire game to win the rubber match between the two schools this year. Mark Morris beat the Bearcats for the 2013 championship. All-tournament selection Nike McClure grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked two shots for the Bearcats, whose size inside led to a 49-30 rebounding advantage. Karley Eaton led Mark Morris (24-3) with 12 points, and Kourtney Eaton added 11. – AP
