Man shot outside Spokane marijuana dispensary

From staff and wire reports
The owner of a recently licensed Spokane marijuana dispensary shot a man outside the store Sunday night. The man was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center after being shot in the abdomen, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said. No update was available on his condition Monday morning. Neither the store owner nor the man shot have been charged with crimes, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The owner of NW Healing Arts, 8311 N. Market St., told sheriff’s deputies he saw a shadow in the back of his shop around 11:30 p.m. He was on alert because of recent burglaries at his business, he told deputies. The two men exchanged words in front of the shop, and the owner saw him make a threatening move. He fired his shotgun once, and the man shot stumbled away, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The owner provided first aid until law enforcement arrived, deputies said. NW Healing Arts was issued a business license Dec. 27, according to state records.
