Alliance Data call center to employ up to 200 in CdA

This story was updated to give a clearer description of the site being used for the business.

A national credit card service company is hiring up to 200 people as it opens a call center in Coeur d’Alene this spring.

Alliance Data Retail Services will move into an empty call center constructed but never used by Coldwater Creek, at 745 W. Hanley Ave.

The company works for a number of major U.S. and global companies by expanding the number of people who use branded credit cards. Among its clients are Virgin America airline, J. Crew, Lane Bryant, HSN, Catherines, Petland and Buckle.

The company will launch operations in June.

Hiring will begin in April, a news release said, and continue through much of the year.

Most of the jobs will involve inbound calls from card users with questions about service options or payments.

Salaries will start just above $11 an hour, according to Lance Beck, regional vice president of customer care operations for the company. The jobs will also offer benefits and tuition reimbursement for workers.

The company advises job applicants to visit its human resources site at www.alliancedataretail.com.

Beck also noted that if growth for Alliance Data Retail Services continues, the company may expand to 400 jobs in North Idaho.

Alliance Data Retail Services is part of Alliance Data, a publicly traded company based in Plano, Texas. The company reported revenue of $4.3 billion for 2013, with net income of $496 million.

The Coeur d’Alene facility will be the seventh Alliance Data customer care center in the country.
