Obituary: Brannon, Dale Francis
Age 93
Medical Center in Spokane, WA.
Born in Dayton, WA, on June 27, 1920 to Arthur Lee and Bessie Belle Brannon, Dale joined the US Army following high school.
His honorable and distinguish- ed military service was with the 3rd Division, 7th Infantry during WW II.
Upon returning home and graduating from WSU, Dale went on to teach Drama and English at Roger’s High School in Spokane for 30 + years.
He had passion for theater and Arabian horses.
He was the founder, organizer and toured with the Red Barn Players Theater group.
He lived at and operated the Red Barn Ranchette, (the true home of the “Black Stallion”), where he bred, raised, and showed world class champion Arabian Horses.
He also operated riding classes and boarded numerous horses.
Dale was a former director and terrific asset to the Lilac Festival Torchlight Parade each year, as he managed and arranged for all the horse entries.
Dale will always be remembered for his generous spirit and his love of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael; and by three brothers.
Dale is survived by his three grandchildren, Brooke Ann Moon, Cory Michael Brannon, and Beau Jay Brannon; by several nephews; and by numerous great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, N. 4305 Division St., Spokane, WA.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be conducted on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Colfax Cemetery, Colfax, WA.
