Feedback: South Hill doughnut joints

An innocent question revealed a potentially unmet need in Spokane. We asked readers to nominate their favorite doughnut joints on Spokane’s South Hill. And the predominant answer was … there isn’t one, aside from grocery store bakeries. Here’s a sampling of their thoughts:

Janessa Lawson

The South Hill has donut places?

Breana Pirtle

Safeway

Kathy Stoeser Lund

Other than the bakeries inside the grocery stores I can’t think of any “doughnut” shops on the hill.

Nicole Glenn

I don’t know of any on the South Hill. If you want good doughnuts, Donut Parade is the place to go. I love the orange coconut…yum!

Julie Sanborn

The only doughnut places I know of on the hill are the grocery stores

Betsy Wilhelms

There aren’t any “donut” shops on the South Hill that I know of … The only decent pastries are at Chaps …

Julie Sanborn

Chaps and Rockwood Bakery, but I would hardly call those doughnut shops, not by a mile

Virginia Thommes Nowitzki

As far as I know it is just grocery stores. I have lived on the hill my whole life so if I am missing out on a doughnut place up here I would love to know about it.

Tiffany Forland

There’s doughnuts on the hill? Where?!

Jeremy Hanson

Henry’s donuts up by Hastings, people!

Tammy Altieri

Is there a true donut shop on the SH?

Jaxon Riley

There are no donuts on the hill, or I would know!

Katy Smith Byrnes

Is there a donut joint on the South Hill? I’ve lived here my whole life and can’t think of one … other than the grocery stores. (which really aren’t much to write home about.)
