Rare baseball tickets for sale

A piece of sports history dating to the 1867 meeting that marked the beginning of institutionalized racial segregation in baseball is up for sale. Troy Thibodeau from Saco River Auction Co. in Biddeford, Maine, said one of the items up for auction Wednesday is a ticket to the National Association of Base-Ball Players convention in Philadelphia, where the rules committee voted to ban teams with black players. Also up for bid is an 1870 season ticket for the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia and a painting believed to date to the early 1900s of Cy Young in a Red Sox uniform.
