PIPER, Virginia

Virginia Delleada Piper, age 83, passed away February 22, 2014 at the Orchard Crest Retirement Community, Spokane, WA.
On October 6, 1931, Virginia was born in Walla Walla WA, to George and Rita (Gent) Houser.

She was soon joined by a sister Karma and a brother Bill.

Years later, after her fathers death, Ross Crow became a husband to Rita and a cherished father to Virginia and her siblings.
Virginia graduated from Mcloughlin High School, Milton-Freewater, Oregon and married Don Piper of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, that same year.

She and Don then moved to Wilbur WA to farm.

Virginia filled her life as wife, mother, and grandmother and was very active in Girl Scouts, in the Community Presbyterian Church, the instigation and building of the Big Bend Golf Course and enjoyed flying their private planes on vacations.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and devoted all her time after the death of her husband Don to the local museum, cemetery committee, and more.

She enjoyed Golfing and traveled abroad, going south for the winter many times with friends, was an avid reader, and enjoyed interacting with her Wilbur community and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Don Piper and survived by sister Karma Dhaenens, and a brother, Bill Crow, daughters, Leiza Golden, Patricia Piper, and Gina Henderson, as well as one grandchild and two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00, March 22 at the Wilbur Cemetery and a social hour and lunch at the Community Presbyterian Church following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilbur Cemetery or Wilbur Museum.
