GOP cheers the enemy

While President Obama navigates a very complicated and dangerous situation regarding the Ukraine, Republican leaders only see another opportunity to pile on politically. It’s no secret that the GOP has more disdain for our current president than any other Democratic president.

But criticizing the president during a dangerous situation like this is simply un-American. But even more egregious than that is the praise and accolades being given to the man who is creating this crisis, Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Do they not know that this international thug is watching them, and how emboldened this kind of talk makes him feel? Imagine watching a boxing match where one of the fighter’s own support team is yelling that the other fighter is stronger and better than their own guy. Sounds pretty ridiculous doesn’t it? But that is exactly what the leaders of the Republican Party are doing.

Political criticism is one thing, but piling on the president during a foreign crisis is just wrong. And doing so by cheering for the enemy is, in my opinion, tantamount to treason.
