Obituary: Buntrock, Werner Ernest “Vern”

Age 88

BUNTROCK, Werner Ernest “Vern” (Age 88) Passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014.

Vern was born November 22, 1925 in Valleyford, WA.

He remained a life-long resident of Spokane.

Vern was a graduate of Lindbergh High School and later received a Business Degree from Kinman Business School.

He first worked for the U.S. Post Office and then for Great Western Savings and Loan for 31 years, rising to the position of Vice-President.

He was also a life-long farmer in Valleyford.

His interests included hunting and gardening, but his greatest passion was his family.

Vern was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Esther.

He is survived by two children, Paul and Heidi, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his sister Mary Shea.

Vern was a loving husband, exceptional father and grandfather, and a trusted and respected friend to all he knew.

His life was a demonstration of honor, perseverance, and integrity.

He will be missed and forever loved and remembered.

Thornhill Valley Chapel is in charge of arrangements; however, no service will be held at Vern’s request.

The family sends a special acknowledgement of appreciation to Stephen Anthony and our beloved Nancy.
