People: AC/DC’s Johnson sings with Billy Joel

From Wire Reports

In a rare and unusual mix of rock legends, AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson made a surprise appearance at Billy Joel’s concert at Madison Square Garden and played the metal band’s classic, “You Shook Me All Night Long.”

Joel introduced Johnson about halfway through the show Friday night, saying Johnson was part of one of the best bands he’d ever seen live. The packed arena erupted when Joel and his band began playing the rock anthem with Johnson on lead vocals.

The show was part of a series of concerts by Joel at the Garden. Friday’s show included a mix of Joel standards such as “Uptown Girl” and “Big Shot” as well as less-played songs, such as “The Ballad of Billy the Kid.”

Hemsworth, wife welcome twins

Two more Hemsworths have arrived.

Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, have welcomed not one, but two sons to the world. The twins of the 30-year-old “Thor: The Dark World” star and the 37-year-old “Fast and Furious 6” actress were born in Los Angeles.

Hemsworth’s publicist, Robin Baum, confirmed the births Friday. No additional information has been released.

The babies join the couple’s first child, daughter India, who is 22 months old.

The Australian actor told the Associated Press last year that family trumps moviemaking these days. He said he loves the work, but it’s certainly not his priority.

Kate Bush announces London shows

Kate Bush, the grande dame of English art-pop, is returning to the stage. It took her only 35 years to do it.

Bush has announced that she’s booked a long run of live dates at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The shows are slated to begin Aug. 26 and continue through Sept. 19.

Her regal vocals and experimental textures have always stayed relevant. Without her, Lorde and Florence & the Machine probably wouldn’t exist in their present form, and Bush has released many albums in the interim, including 2011’s “50 Words for Snow.” In 2013, she received a Commander of the Order of the British Empire award for her contributions to music.

This run of shows, titled “Before the Dawn,” is her first since her last tour in 1979. She’s given many reasons for this over the years, including a fear of flying, raising a family and the death of her lighting designer in a 1979 accident.

Apparently, her U.K. fans have been eagerly awaiting her return. The Telegraph reported that Bush’s website, where she announced the dates, buckled under all the new traffic.
