Pool is better investment

Driving the streets along the proposed Appleway Trail, I see no purpose in spending $2 million dollars to pave this parcel of land. I doubt Waste Management, the Spokane Transit Authority garage, the U.S. Post Office, storage units, apartment complexes, casinos, etc., would support a sidewalk cafe. If a business wants such development, let them finance the trail, lights and restrooms.

Centennial Trail and Dishman Hills allow us wonderful walking and biking opportunities. If there is one activity we could really use it is a year-round aquatic center. Moses Lake is putting a permanent cover over their existing high school community pool, state of the art, at under $3 million; the most used classroom in the school.

Water provides health benefits for all ages and physical abilities. Mission Valley Park is ready and waiting for it.
