Obituary: Krell, Jack

KRELL, Jack (Age 93) Jack R. Krell of Dallas, OR passed away Monday, March 24th, 2014 of natural causes.

He was born on September 20th, 1920 in Spokane, WA to Daniel and Verna Krell.

Jack graduated from North Central High School in Spokane.

After high school, he joined the Marines to play on the Marine’s basketball team.

Jack served his country in World War II in the South Pacific.

He fought in several battles and received two purple hearts and was dismissed with the rank of Sergeant.

After the war, Jack returned to Spokane and joined the Spokane Fire Department.

He worked for the Fire Department for 33 years and retired in 1978 as a Captain.

He met his love Mina Florence in 1949 and they were married in 1950 in Spokane, WA.

They lived in Spokane until 2010 and then they moved to Dallas, Oregon.

Together they raised a son ‘Richard Krell’ and a daughter ‘Nancy Krell White’.

Jack had five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Jack had many interests which included; fishing, hunting, camping in their motor home and vacationing in Hawaii.

Jack was a loving and great natured person who lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother ‘Delbert Krell’.

Survivors include his wife, Mina; sister, Diane Cappellano; son, Richard Krell; daughter, Nancy Krell White; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Spokane on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
