Obituary: Jacklin, Emma E. (Moeller)

Age 105

JACKLIN, Emma E. (Moeller) (Age 105) Emma E. Moeller Jacklin was born January 3, 1909, to Claus and Rosa Moeller in Rockford, WA.

She graduated to heaven March 24, 2014 in Greenacres, WA.

Emma’s parents were born in Germany and were married in Kansas.

Emma attended school in Rockford through the 3rd grade when the family moved to Dishman.

Emma completed grade school in Dishman and attended West Valley High School.

She worked for several years to contribute to the family finances.

In January 1935 Emma married Ben Jacklin.

Ben had three sons and one daughter.

Following their marriage, Ben, his sons and a nephew began the Jacklin Seed Co. by raising seed peas.

Emma loved her garden and flowers.

Ben passed away in September 1959.

Following Ben’s death, Emma began volunteering at Good Samaritan Village.

In 1980 she moved to Good Samaritan where she resided until her death.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; four step-children, Arden, Lyle, Owen and Ora; one grandson, Walt Moeller; and two great-grandsons.

She is survived by daughter-in-law, Gladys Jacklin; grandchildren, Carol (Gene) Kicha, Ardith (Lee) Bryan, Doris (Bob) Hodge, Don (Dorothy) Jacklin, Doyle Jacklin, Janet (Vern) Rogers, Jeannie (John) Grisham, Terry (Jan) Jacklin, Duane (Susan) Jacklin, and Cindy Moeller; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A celebration of Emma’s life will be held Friday March 28, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Good Samaritan Village Community Building, 17121 East 8th Avenue, Greenacres WA.
