Washington State baseball coach Donnie Marbut was admitted to Pullman Regional Hospital on Thursday evening following a three-car automobile accident.

Marbut was on his way to WSU’s game against San Jose State and reportedly swerved across a lane and into oncoming traffic at the intersection of Stadium Way and Main Street in Pullman. The accident occurred less than half an hour before the game’s scheduled first pitch.

He was released from the hospital later Thursday evening and is recovering at home. Police say that Marbut showed no signs of intoxication. He is not expected to coach the Cougars in today’s game against San Jose State.
