Put market at fairgrounds

Why can’t we have a farmers market at Spokane County fairgrounds? We own those buildings and grounds, and our taxes maintain them. It would be a great venue for a market, with ample parking and lots of space for stalls. The idea would be to keep the rental rate at cost for the farmers and that, in turn, would keep the prices competitive on fresh foods.

It would be so nice to have a caring and sharing community for everyone. They could work around fair dates and such, or just designate one building for that and leave it at that.

We pour untold millions into the baseball park, and I hope it shows a return. If so, that could lower the prices for the market. I know it sounds like common sense, and that’s hard to get across at times, but hey.
