Obituary: Pederson, Pauline L.

PEDERSON, Pauline L. February 22, 1937 - March 27, 2014 In Remembrance Of It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Pauline Lydia Pederson, yet it is with a grateful soul that we celebrate her life.

Born to John and Ellene Fancher in 1937, she spent her childhood in Miles City, Montana and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

At age eighteen, Pauline moved to Spokane, Washington.

There she would graduate from Kinman Business College and work as a Secretary for a local television station before earning Teacher’s Certification in 1978 from Eastern Washington College, and then teaching at Whitman Elementary School for nearly two decades.

Pauline will be remembered as a selflessly devoted Wife and Mother.

Even while advancing her education, she could be found assisting in her children’s extra-curricular activities, leading a Scout troop, or chaperoning The Percussion-Naut Patriots drum and bugle band on a trip to Europe.

A faithful Catholic, Pauline maintained regular Mass attendance and found joy in spending time with her family, reading, and in learning.

Pauline leaves behind her dedicated and loving husband of 57 years - Lowell Samuel Pederson.

Their union was one of caring and loyal partnership, and may God’s grace surround him in her absence.

She will be greatly missed by many, including her five children; Mark (Lorna), Marie (Steve), Robert, Jeanie (David), and James, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and countless extended family and friends.

She is preceded in passing by each of her parents, and brother, Johnny.

Although sorrowful at her departure from this world, we remain blessed by Pauline’s kind and gentle spirit, and take comfort in knowing that she now rests peacefully in our Lord’s embrace.

Those who wish to honor Pauline’s memory with a donation may do so by making a charitable contribution in her name to: Catholic Charities, 12 E. 5th Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.

Dedications of Mass and prayer are also appreciated.
