Obituary: Suttle, Elsie Mae

Age 92

SUTTLE, Elsie Mae (Age 92) Elsie passed away peace-fully at her home on March 17, 2014.

Her parents drove a covered wagon from Kansas to Norwood, Colorado where they established a homestead.

Elsie was born on February 14, 1922 and lived for 17 years on the homestead.

Her senior year she moved to Montrose, Colorado to attend an accredited high school so she could attend college the following year.

In 1943 she graduated from San Jose State College with honors and a teaching certificate.

In 1944 she married the love of her life, Kent B. Suttle, and they moved to San Diego, California to start their lives together.

Elsie was a teacher for the San Diego School District, she and her husband shared 51 years together, raised two children and had many happy times together.

They were very active in their church singing in the choir for over 30 years, loved their friends, dancing, bridge, and traveling in their motorhome.

Elsie moved to Spokane in 2007 to be closer to her daughter, she said she was proud to be a Washingtonian.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Kent B. Suttle, and her mother (Alma) and father (George).

She is survived by her son Gary Suttle (Paula); two grandchildren, Torreyanna and Tyler Suttle; and her daughter, Joanie Suttle.

She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed.

We would like to thank Jessica and her staff at Alpine Estates in Deer Park for their loving care of our mother.

A service will be held at a later date in San Diego.
