Let’s Play for the Symphony - The Spokane Symphony Associates’ Forte Plus Chapter is sponsoring its 24th annual event, a day to play cards or games with a buffet lunch and auction fun. “The Pursuit of Happyness” – Screening of the 2006 film starring Will Smith and based on the book of the same name by Christopher Gardner to benefit the Women Helping Women Fund. It chronicles the single father’s path from homelessness to successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and author. Gardner will speak at the Women Helping Women Fund’s luncheon on May 12. Inland Northwest Alzheimer’s Association Gala “At the Hop” - The 14th annual Nancy Rockwell Gala and Auction with dinner, live and silent auctions and dancing to ’50s music. Gardeners’ Gala - Spokane Valley Partners Community Gardens spring outreach event and fundraiser featuring live music and a silent auction. The event is being held to raise funds for the construction of a second community garden in the Edgecliff neighborhood and to help fund the backyards garden program.
