Obituary: Aronson, Corinne Adele

Age 88

ARONSON, Corinne Adele (Age 87) Corinne Adele Aronson passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 28th, 2014 with family at her side.

She was born May 15, 1926 in Spokane, Washington to Clarence and Mabel Hynes.

Corinne attended Longfellow and Wilson grade schools and later graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in the 100th Commencement Ceremony in 1944.

During high school she was a member of the Ti-Girls, A Cappella Choir and home room President.

After high school she attended Kelsey-Baird Business College.

Corinne’s early years of work started at the Davenport Hotel in 1942 in the candy shop, where she met her future husband, Jack Aronson, who was stationed at Farragut Navel Training Center in Bayview, Idaho.

After dating for two years, Corinne and Jack wed at the Davenport Hotel on September 8, 1944.

In 1943 Corinne started work at the Peerless Dentist for Dr. David Cowen as cashier and worked her way up to personal secretary and head of HR.

After leaving Peerless in 1975, she went to work as a teller for Washington Trust Bank and later retired in 1987.

Corinne was very involved in the Spokane community through her volunteer work with the Lady Jaycee’s, Spokane Lilac Association, and the Red Hat Ladies.

As a member of the Spokane Lilac Association, Corinne’s duties included dignitary visits, hosting dinners, and attending Spokane’s annual Lilac Armed Forces Parade.

Besides volunteer work, Corinne and Jack always looked forward to traveling and cruising, especially to their favorite destination, Honolulu, Hawaii which they visited over 30 times.

Corinne is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jack; son Kerry Aronson and daughter-in-law Annie (Spokane, WA); grandson Kyle Aronson and his wife Ellen; and great-grandchildren Linnea and Connor (Puyallup, WA), and grandson Kevin Aronson and his wife Meredith (Spokane, WA).

Corinne loved her family very much, she will be dearly missed.

The Aronson family would like to thank the nurses and staff at North Central Care Center for the loving care Corinne received during her final months.

The celebration of Corinne’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home (508 N. Government Way, Spokane).
