Obituary: Voliva, Ben H.

Age 72

In Memory of VOLIVA, Ben H. 14 July 1941-25 April 2014 Ben entered the military service on 30 January 1961 and retired on 31 January 1981.

He served two tours of duty in Vietnam as well as three tours in Germany.

His other duty assignments were: basic training at Fort Ord, California, Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Lewis, Washington.

He was commissioned as a warrant officer in 1974.

He received numerous medals and commendations during his military career including two Bronze Star Medals in the same tour of duty in Vietnam.

He is truly proud of the service he gave to his country.

He is survived by his devoted wife Anita.

They were married in Germany in November 1967.

He has three children, Renee, Becky and Jason, and four grandchildren.

He is also survived by his two sisters and a brother, Delores Hickey, Mary Walker, and Fred Voliva, and numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Washington State VA Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 8.

A Celebration of Life will be held following Memorial Service at “Ben’s Garage”.
