Residential dispute ends in gunfire

A neighborhood dispute ended in gunfire Saturday night in the 4200 block of West Rowan Avenue, but no one was injured. “It was just two neighbors getting into it,” said Spokane Police Lt. Dean Sprague. One man confronted a neighbor about driving at high speeds on the residential street. The man accused of driving recklessly responded by firing a gun into the air twice, said Sprague. Brady Towner said it was his roommate who confronted the man and his roommate armed himself with a knife after the gun was fired because he felt threatened. The man with the gun then produced an AR-15 rifle, Towner said. “He was waving it around,” Towner said. “He didn’t aim it at anybody. It could have been bad.” Police arrested the man who fired in the air. He will be charged with second-degree assault, Sprague said. His identity was not released late Saturday.
