Workshop focuses on ethical issues

Two experts on aging are presenting a workshop focusing on ethical dilemmas with vulnerable adults May 14 at the Lincoln Center.

The workshop features Wendy Lustbader, an affiliate associate professor at the University of Washington and national lecturer, and Spokane elder law attorney Karen Sayre, who will discuss “There Are No Right Answers: Ethical Dilemmas in Serving Vulnerable Adults.”

Topics include options for managing finances, assessing complicated situations, responding to self-neglect and slow suicide, and suicide prevention.

The cost for general admission and home care aides continuing education is $35 and the cost for social work continuing education is $55.

The workshop is presented by SAFE: Senior Assistance Fund of Eastern Washington, Providence Health Care and Eastern Washington University.

New SAIL class

ACT 2 is offering a new SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) class this summer starting in July.

Registration for the exercise class is now open. The class aims to improve strength, balance and fitness to maintain balance and mobility, reduce the risk of falls and improve quality of life. Fox promoted

Prestige Care, which is based in Vancouver and has four care facilities in the region, recently promoted Tanya Fox to clinical director.

Fox was previously a regional nurse consultant for the skilled nursing and rehabilitation company that owns Sullivan Park Care Center in Spokane along with Prestige Care & Rehabilitation facilities in Colville, Clarkston and Lewiston.
