David A. Whidbee has been named interim dean of Washington State University’s College of Business. Whidbee has served as associate dean for faculty affairs and research at the college since 2005 and holds the Omer L. Carey Chair in Financial Education.

Engineering

McKinstry has promoted Jason Engelbrecht to Inland Northwest regional safety director. Engelbrecht was previously a safety engineer and safety manager in McKinstry’s Portland office. He has been with the firm’s safety team since 2011 and has seven years of experience in construction safety and health, behavior-based safety management, safety training, and project safety audits.

Trindera Engineering has hired James Fawson as an electrical project engineer for its municipal department. Previously, Fawson was the associate engineer at Pro Unlimited Inc. in Sacramento, California.

Finance

Gavin Mobraten has joined Mountain West Bank, a division of Glacier Bank, as assistant vice president of the Small Business Administration division in Coeur d’Alene. Mobraten has more than 16 years of experience in the financial industry, especially in commercial real estate, small business administration financing, and residential mortgages. Previously, he was with U.S. Bank for nine years.

Danny Beutler has joined Idaho Independent Bank as a real estate loan officer in the Coeur d’Alene office. Beutler has two years of experience in real estate lending.

United Health Services Credit Union has announced the staff of the new Spokane Valley branch as follows: Bryan Crabbe, branch manager; Sue Wendt, member services representative; Shanna Hickam, financial services representative; Robin Walter, teller; Laura Kneesham, teller. The branch is set to open on June 27 at 16402 E. Sprague Ave.

Health care

William Weigel has joined Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists. Weigel specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of spine conditions. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. In addition, he completed a medical internship at Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and residency training in anesthesiology and advanced fellowship training in pain management at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Hospitality

Angela Landgraf has joined Red Lion Hotels Corp. as senior vice president of business development. Landgraf has more than 20 years of experience in business development and sales in the hospitality industry. Previously, she was the senior vice president of business development and management services for Richfield Hospitality.

Human resources

The Inland Northwest Society for Human Resource Management has been awarded the EXCEL Platinum Award for 2013 by the Society for Human Resource Management in recognition of its work in strategic activities and initiatives that promote the human resources profession.

Insurance

Fidelity Associates has received the President’s Award from Safeco Insurance for outstanding performance.

Bullet Tools has been named as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for May by U.S. Sen. Jim Risch in recognition of the company’s commitment to excellence.

Jackie Worobec has joined Women Helping Women Fund Spokane as the new executive director. Worobec has extensive experience in development, volunteer management, grant writing and fundraising for small nonprofits. She served as board president of the United Way of San Juan County and is president elect for the Junior League of Spokane.

Annette McAlister and Laurie Ingebritsen have joined Windermere’s Spokane Valley office as brokers.
