Hired USA Wrestling has hired Matt Lindland as its new national Greco-Roman coach. The sanctioning body announced Tuesday that Lindland will succeed Steve Fraser, who coached the Greco-Roman program for nearly 20 years. Lindland won a silver medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and took silver at the world championships in 2001.

Announced The Detroit Grand Prix has reached a two-year extension with Chevrolet to keep a race on Belle Isle through at least 2016. Auto racing returned to Detroit in 2012 following a four-year absence thanks in part to a three-year deal with Chevy.

Cristiano Ronaldo expects to be healthy enough to play for Real Madrid in Saturday’s Champions League final against Atletico Madrid. “I’ll be there. Today I’m not 100 percent but I will be for the final,” Ronaldo said. “It’s very important, we worked all season to play the final and win it.” Ronaldo has been nursing various leg injuries since the beginning of April.

• The Charlotte Hornets are back. The NBA franchise announced they have officially changed the name back to the Hornets after 10 years of being known as the Bobcats. The league approved the change last July. The Hornets resided in Charlotte from 1988-2002 before George Shinn moved the team – and name – to New Orleans. The name became available when New Orleans owner Tom Benson changed his team’s name to the Pelicans.

• University of Montana athletic director Kent Haslam says he plans a national search to replace men’s basketball coach Wayne Tinkle, who resigned after eight seasons to become the men’s basketball coach at Oregon State. The Missoulian reports Tinkle had one year remaining on his contract, meaning either he or Oregon State is responsible for a nearly $140,000 buyout.

Introduced The Golden State Warriors introduced Steve Kerr as their new coach at the team’s headquarters in Oakland, California. He said he has never been a head coach at any level and there are questions about whether he can do the job. He says he’s “willing to put the work in and put the right people around me” to prove he can.
