Released The 8-year-old boy who was struck in the head by a foul ball at Turner Field has been released from the hospital and is “doing well.” The child was injured in the seventh inning of Tuesday night’s game when Milwaukee outfielder Carlos Gomez lined a pitch from Atlanta’s Julio Teheran into the seats behind the Braves’ first-base dugout.

Agreed Connecticut men’s basketball coach Kevin Ollie has agreed to a $15-million, five-year contract with the national champion Huskies. The 41-year-old coach, who spent 13 years as an NBA journeyman before returning to his alma mater, has been linked to several NBA job openings, including with the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. Ollie has compiled a 52-18 record in his two seasons with the Huskies.

• The New York Islanders agreed to a four-year contract with goaltender Jaroslav Halak. Halak, 28, split his eighth NHL season between St. Louis and Washington, compiling a 29-13-7 record. The native of Slovakia was acquired by New York from Washington for a fourth-round draft pick and could have become a free agent. Halak won the Jennings Trophy in 2011-12 for helping St. Louis allow the fewest goals in the league. He has a 144-85-29 record with a 2.38 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage and 30 shutouts.

Galloped Triple Crown hopeful California Chrome has galloped for the first time at Belmont Park. The Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner galloped 1 3/4 miles on the sloppy track under exercise rider Willie Delgado. California Chrome will try to become the first horse in 36 years to win the Triple Crown when he runs in the Belmont Stakes on June 7.

Withdrawn In an effort to be ready for the U.S. Open, Sergio Garcia has withdrawn from the BMW PGA Championship because of an injured left knee. Garcia shot a 1-over 73 on the West Course at Wentworth and then advised officials he was unable to continue. The seventh-ranked Spaniard first felt pain in his knee during the final round of last week’s Spanish Open. An MRI showed no serious damage.

Announced The Uruguayan soccer federation says striker Luis Suarez will have knee surgery and will still be ready to play at the World Cup next month. Suarez practiced on Wednesday in Montevideo and then underwent an exam after complaining about knee pain. Uruguay’s head of national team selections, Roberto Pastoriza, told newspaper El Pais “we are optimistic he can play in the World Cup.”
