Scoop adds waffles to food truck offerings

The Scoop on Spokane’s South Hill has been selling Liège waffles for a couple of years now. But it didn’t start making its batter in-house and from scratch until this spring.

Regular customers have been sampling the new Belgian-style waffles since they debuted at the ice cream shop in March. They’ll be available at The Scoop’s food truck for the first time.

Owner Jennifer Davis created special menu items for the event, including the Waffle Pocket, a hand-held sandwich-type treat made with cheddar, sausage and maple-Sriracha syrup stuffed inside two waffle slices.

The Scoop’s ice cream – and now waffle – truck will be parked at Perry Street Brewing Co., 1025 S. Perry St., from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
