Barrett Foa keeps busy amid ‘NCIS: LA’ hiatus

From Wire Reports

While his “NCIS: Los Angeles” cast mates jet off for luxury holidays, Barrett Foa is going back to work.

The guy who plays everyone’s favorite techie, Eric Beale, on the long-running crime show has jumped into the one-man stage show “Buyer & Cellar” after 10 months of grueling TV filming.

“This is my vacation,” Foa said, looking around the play’s home at the Barrow Street Theatre. “It’s a huge challenge and nothing like anything I’ve ever gotten or probably ever will do.”

Foa will be playing the struggling actor Alex More, who lands a job as a clerk in an underground mall of quaint shops. It gets weird when he turns out to be the only employee and it gets even weirder when the mall turns out to be part of Barbra Streisand’s estate.

Kim-Kanye nuptials may be at hand

PARIS – A private party at Versailles, a girls’ night out in Paris, a glam gathering at Valentino’s French chateau – Kim Kardashian has had a high-profile, big-budget week. What could possibly top that? Wedding bells, perhaps.

The reality TV star and Kanye West are expected to wed in Italy today, according to the Florence mayor’s office.

The buildup has been unfolding on Instagram and Twitter, as Kardashian and her entourage chronicle the pre-wedding adventures online. But they’re cultivating a careful mystery about when and where the pair will formally tie the knot.

Friday brought a private tour of the nearby Chateau of Versailles. Crowds of fans mobbed West’s car as it entered the grounds in a convoy of black vehicles, riding toward the gilded entrance of the French royal domain.

A spokeswoman at the Florence mayor’s office says they rented the 16th-century Belvedere Fort for $410,000 for a wedding ceremony today.

Angelou too ill for awards luncheon

Maya Angelou will not attend the 2014 MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon, where she will be honored. Major League Baseball cited “health reasons” Friday in saying the 86-year-old won’t make it to the May 30 event in Houston before the annual Civil Rights Game.

Angelou canceled an event last month in Fayetteville, Arkansas, because she was recovering from an “unexpected ailment” that sent her to the hospital.

Angelou said in a statement she respects MLB for holding the annual event.

The Houston Astros will host the Baltimore Orioles in this year’s Civil Rights Game.
