Obituary: Bourget-Orosco, Karen

BOURGET-OROSCO, Karen Karen Bourget-Orosco went to rest with the Lord on May 15th, 2014.

She is preceded in rest by her Mother, Glenna Ferguson.

Karen was born and raised in Spokane, WA.

She attended Rogers High School and achieved her Bachelor’s degree from Whitworth University, she was only one class away from achieving her Master’s degree.

She would often reminisce about her cheerleading in high school, her favorite cheer was “Two bits, Four bits, Six bits a dollar all for Rogers stand up and holler!”

Karen was a dedicated Christian and servant of the Lord.

She was always willing to help those in need, never turning anyone away.

She would put the needs of other people ahead of her own.

Karen dedicated over 20 years of her life working with individuals with substance abuse problems as the Executive Director at Community Detox Services of Spokane where she touched the life of thousands of people.

Karen has many bells waiting for her in heaven and will be most remembered here by her kind heart and love for her family.

She was a devoted wife for many years, and was the most dedicated, loving and selfless mother to her two children.

She loved her grandchildren to the moon and back.

There truly was nothing more important to her than her family.

Karen is survived by her father, Bill Sr; husband Herb; son David; daughter Kristina; grandchildren, Tya and Gabriel; brothers, Bill Jr, Keith (Debbie), and Kelley (Tracy).

The service for Karen will be held at Central Seventh Day Adventist Church on the 27th of May at 10am located at 828 W Spofford Ave. Graveside service to follow at Fairmount Memorial, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave.
