Associated Press
POST FALLS — A Spokane Valley man who police say entered Interstate 90 in Post Falls going the wrong way and causing a collision has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and other charges. Police took 30-year-old Matthew A. Paris into custody Monday following the two-car crash at about 9:30 p.m. on a west-bound off-ramp in Post Falls. Police say the 1989 Jeep Cherokee driven by Paris collided with a 1997 Saturn station wagon driven by a 21-year-old North Idaho woman. Emergency responders took both drivers and a 6-year-old child in Paris’ vehicle to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries. Besides DUI, Paris is also suspected of driving without privileges, injury to a child, and possession of a concealed firearm while under the influence.
