Cougs early schedule includes four night games
Go ahead and book that extra night at your favorite Pullman hotel.
The Pac-12 released its early football television schedule for the 2014 season and Washington State has already been saddled with a number of night games.
The effort to get every Pac-12 game on national television has caused the conference to stray from the tradition afternoon football game time and WSU appears headed toward another year of football games played under the lights.
Last season the Cougars played six regular-season games that kicked off at 7 p.m. PST or later, as did Oregon State and UCLA.
The Cougars host Rutgers at 7 p.m. to begin the 2014 season on Thursday, Aug. August 28. They’ll play even later the following week in their contest at Nevada the following Friday, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Those games will be televised on Fox Sports 1 and ESPN, respectively.
Two more of WSU’s game times have been decided, including their home-opener against Portland State on Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. and their trip to Stanford on Friday, Oct. October 10, that will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
All other game times for the 2014 season will be announced six or 12 days in advance.
