Jesus Christ Superstar at Spokane Arena cancelled

A performance of Jesus Christ Superstar scheduled for the Spokane Arena featuring several famous rock stars was cancelled on Friday. Tickets for the July 9 show will be refunded automatically if purchased by phone or online, the Spokane Public Facilities District, which operates the arena said in a news release. Tickets bought at a box office must be returned at the location purchased for a refund. Options Clause Entertainment LLC, an affiliate of the production company S2BN Entertainment, had planned more than 50 shows across the country. They were all cancelled on Friday. The cast included Brandon Boyd of Incubus, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, JC Chasez of `N Sync and John Lydon, the lead singer of the Sex Pistols, Entertainment Weekly reported. The magazine, citing an earlier Associated Press report, said that a producer of the show had estimated it would have to make “several hundred thousand dollars” each night to keep it going. Cast members were in New Orleans, where they have been rehearsing, when the announcement was made.
