Seattle, WR Doug Baldwin agree to extension

Doug Baldwin and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a contract extension that locks up the former undrafted wide receiver through the 2016 season. The team confirmed the new deal for Baldwin on Thursday afternoon. Baldwin (center) will play the 2014 season under the second-round tender he received as a restricted free agent earlier in the offseason, then will receive two additional years. The deal is expected to be worth up to $13 million over the three seasons. The second-round tender for 2014 is worth $2.18 million. Baldwin has proven to be invaluable for the Seahawks throughout his career. He was Seattle’s leading receiver as a rookie in 2011 and made 50 catches in the regular season and five touchdowns during the Seahawks’ title run in 2013. – AP
