McMorris Rodgers earns vote

This year the president has signed two bills sponsored by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers into law (out of 72 bills signed by the president). She sponsored HR 267, the Hydropower Regulatory Efficiency Act of 2013, which encourages smaller hydropower operations, creates jobs and saves energy.

The congresswoman serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee. She is an advocate for improving rural health care. She chairs the House Republican Conference. This is a leadership position that makes her the fourth highest-ranking member of the House, and the highest-ranking woman.

She co-chairs the Military Family Caucus with Rep. Sanford Bishop, D-Ga. She has the ability to work across the aisle. He flew across the country to attend a military family summit at Fairchild Air Force Base. She also passed a bipartisan amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act-2015 (HR 4435) combating underemployment in military spouses. She co-sponsored H.R. 4810, the Veteran Access to Care Act of 2014, which would direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to enter into contracts with non-VA facilities.

Vote for Cathy McMorris Rodgers. She supports policies empowering the private sector – especially small businesses – creating jobs and spurring economic growth.
